You can ask Northstar Data Services Inc. to delete the personal information and account data we hold about you. This page explains how, how fast we act, and what is and isn't covered. The request path is simple: email us. We don't make you log in to a portal.

Summary

  • Email [email protected] with the subject "Data deletion request".
  • We confirm receipt within 5 business days.
  • We complete deletion within 30 days of a verified request.
  • Some categories are retained where law requires (for example, financial records); we'll tell you what.

How to request deletion

Send an email from the address tied to your account to [email protected] with the following information so we can verify and act on the request:

Request template

Subject: Data deletion request
From: The email address on the account
Body:
I am requesting deletion of my personal data held by Northstar Data Services. Account email: [email protected] Business / tenant name (if applicable): Your business Scope of deletion: full account | specific data only — describe Reason (optional): e.g., I am no longer using the service

If you are an authorized agent acting for someone else, include written proof of that authority. We will still need to verify the underlying account holder's identity.

You do not need to use this exact wording — a plain-language email is fine. The template just helps us act faster.

Timeline

  • Within 5 business days: we acknowledge receipt and confirm whether we need any verification.
  • Within 30 days of a verified request: deletion completes in our primary systems.
  • Up to 90 days after that: deleted data may still exist in encrypted, off-site backups until backup expiry. We do not restore deleted data from backups except where required to recover from a disaster, and we re-honor your deletion if any restored data includes yours.

What gets deleted

On a full account deletion request, we delete:

  • Your account record, login credentials, and authentication artifacts.
  • Tenant content you uploaded or authored: posts, drafts, photos, business descriptions, service-area definitions, credentials, notes.
  • Connected-account tokens we hold for Google, Meta, LinkedIn, Bing, and any other authorized integration (we also revoke them from the third-party side where the API supports it).
  • Tenant-scoped settings, usage history, AI-call records, and presence scores tied to your account.
  • Photo and media files in Backblaze B2 storage tied to your account.

What is retained

A small set of data we either must keep or need to keep briefly to operate honestly:

  • Records we must keep by law — tax, accounting, billing, contract-related records — for the legally required period. Where personal information appears in these records, we restrict access to it.
  • Aggregated or anonymized data that no longer identifies you (for example, anonymized usage counts).
  • Records of the deletion request itself, so we can prove the request was honored.
  • Encrypted backups as described above, until backup expiry (up to 90 days).
  • Delivery metadata held by communication subprocessors. When we have sent you transactional email (via AWS SES) or SMS / verification messages (via Telesign), those providers retain their own delivery metadata — message IDs, send timestamps, bounce or delivery status — per their own retention policies, which we do not control. We delete our copies; their copies expire on their schedule.

Facebook / Meta-specific notes

Northstar Business supports a Facebook Pages integration: once you authorize it, the platform can publish on your behalf to a Facebook Page you administer. If you later disconnect Facebook from Northstar Business — either inside the platform or by removing the app from your Facebook account at facebook.com/settings/business_tools — the following happens:

  • We delete the Facebook access token we held for your account, usually within 24 hours of receiving the disconnection signal.
  • Posts you already published to Facebook through Northstar Business remain on Facebook as content you own on that platform; we cannot retract them from there. To remove a published post from Facebook, delete it on Facebook.
  • If you also want your Northstar Business account deleted, follow the request path above.

If Facebook has provided you a User ID and you need that ID-specific deletion (for example, you can no longer log in but want to ensure deletion), include it in your email.

Google-connected accounts

If you have connected Google services (Search Console, Google Business Profile, Google Analytics, Gemini-based features) to Northstar Business, deletion includes revoking our access tokens. You can also revoke from Google's side at myaccount.google.com/permissions.

Content already published to third-party platforms

When you publish through Northstar Business to a third-party platform (your blog under Northstar Business, Facebook Page, Google Business Profile, LinkedIn, and so on), the published content is owned by you on that platform from that point on. We can delete it from our side, but we cannot delete it from the third-party platform; you (or your authorized agent) need to do that there.

Exception: our tenant-blog content (served from {slug}.northstardata.com) is hosted by us. Deleting your account removes the blog content we host as part of the deletion.

Verification

To prevent unauthorized deletions, we verify the request comes from the account holder. The easiest verification is sending the email from the address on file. If that's not possible (lost access, changed address), we may ask for additional information that only the account holder would know.
